Ben Duda is the Executive Director of AmeriCorps Alums. AmeriCorps Alums, an enterprise of Points of Light, is the only national network convening the alumni of all AmeriCorps national service programs. Ben holds a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a M.P.P. in Urban Policy from The Johns Hopkins University. Ben completed two years and more than 4,000 hours of service in AmeriCorps in the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) as a corps member and then team leader. In addition, Ben was a teaching fellow at Citizen Schools, an AmeriCorps program. During the two-year fellowship, he led and mentored a team of middle school students in Boston Public Schools. Ben spent five years as a Senior Program Manager with KaBOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to safe place to play within walking distance of every child in America, where he helped lead the growth of a major civic campaign to increase the engagement of cities and city leaders in the importance of play and physical activity. Ben served on the founding AmeriCorps Alums Leadership Council in 2005 – 2006, is a proud native of Buffalo, NY and resides with his family in Atlanta, GA.

HandsOn Atlanta - 2004-2005

Greg Heinrich serves as the Alumni Mobilization Manager for AmeriCorps Alums. Greg holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance from Auburn University at Montgomery. Greg completed a year of AmeriCorps service with Hands On Atlanta during 2004-2005, where he served at a local elementary school, tutoring and running an after school enrichment program. He is also co-founder and co-owner of a small social enterprise, Snacks For Change, that invests its profits back into local community causes. Greg is originally from Slidell, LA and currently resides in Atlanta, GA with his wife and two dogs.

Points of Light - 2011

Ken Tran is the External Relations Coordinator for AmeriCorps Alums. A graduate of UC Irvine, he received his B.S. in Psychology and Social Behavior and a minor in Education Studies. In the fall of 2010, Ken made the move to Atlanta, GA where he started his AmeriCorps service as a National Direct Member at Points of Light with the Get HandsOn Campaign. During his 10 month term, Ken served over 1700 hours to building, training, and expanding an online community of service leaders. Ken is a native of San Francisco, CA and currently resides in Atlanta, GA where he continues to serve with local nonprofits and causes.
