As part of our commitment to connecting all alumni to the ideas, resources, and people that support a lifetime of service, we have recently launched or supported several initiatives. View the list below to learn more about some of our most recent and current campaigns.
Employers of National Service: A cross-sector partnership that encourages employers to create recruitment, hiring, and advancement opportunities for alumni of AmeriCorps and Peace Corps. AmeriCorps Alums has worked with the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency that administers AmeriCorps, and its partners, the Peace Corps and the Franklin Project of the Aspen Institute to launch this initiative.
AmeriCorps Alums Founders Club: A club uniting individuals who were instrumental in the founding of AmeriCorps to connect together again and work to support AmeriCorps Alums.
AmeriCorps Alums Corporate Champions: An initiative honoring corporations who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to national service in one or more of these areas: thought leadership, investment in national service programs, and/or hiring and mentoring alums
The 20th Anniversary of AmeriCorps: In fall of 2014, AmeriCorps Alums united with national service leaders, Corps members, and alumni of all AmeriCorps programs to honor the 20th anniversary of AmeriCorps on September 12th, 2014. Twenty alumni were awarded AmeriCorps Alums National Leadership Awards in honor of their commitment to a lifetime of service and across the country we united in service projects and pledge renewal ceremonies.
AmeriCorps Alums Membership Campaign: Over 70 AmeriCorps state commissions and nonprofits have already partnered with us to encourage Corps members to register with us. If you work with AmeriCorps members or alums, join us in building a movement that supports their life after AmeriCorps. We’re making it easier to connect your Corps members and alums to our exclusive resources with our Membership Campaign Communications Guide for Partner Organizations (Word;PDF), sample Powerpoint and flyer. Contact our Communications Coordinator Maria at email@example.com with questions.
#ServeAYear Campaign: AmeriCorps Alums joined with ServiceNation and 17 of the country’s leading national service organizations in an effort to make a year of service part of the American way of life in March 2014. We continue to be a national strategic partner with the goal of connecting the stories and impact of Corps member and alums to more Americans by reaching out to them in partnership with entertainment writers, corporations, and other organizations that support national service. Our goal is simple, but ambitious: We envision a day when young Americans turn to each other and ask, “Where will your year of national service be?”
