Leadership Programming to Launch 2010-2011

AmeriCorps Alums is the leading alumni network for national service in America. We inspire, equip and engage national service alumni to fully realize their potential as change agents and civic leaders in communities. AmeriCorps Alums creates a force for change in America’s communities by empowering national service alumni with the tools and resources they need for a lifetime of civic leadership.

There is a great need for community-based and nonprofit sector leadership and talent in our country. Studies have shown that 60% of AmeriCorps alumni choose careers in the public service sector (nonprofit, government, higher ed). Our new strategic direction beginning in 2010 is to help fill this need and support our alumni as the next generation of leaders in the public sector.

In order to cultivate alumni as effective leaders in the nonprofit workforce, AmeriCorps Alums will:

-         Partner with leading content provider to offer regional skill-based training 

-         Offer experiential learning opportunities and access to valuable contacts

-         Provide access to low cost higher education graduate programs in public service

-         Build public awareness of the valuable impact alumni are making
