DC Chapter of AmeriCorps Alums: Transitional Housing Corporation Service Project

On April 6th, we will be building 4 garden beds and organizing a book drive for THC's youth garden program at Fort View. This affordable housing building provides stability for 62 families that were homeless or at-risk. At this location residents services provide employment counseling, youth enrichment, community building and health & wellness. This combination of housing and services creates an environment where families can thrive and achieve their goals.

At this location residents services provide employment counseling, youth enrichment, community building and health & wellness. This combination of housing and services creates an environment where families can thrive and achieve their goals. The gardens will be used to teach youth participants about gardening, health, the environment and sustainability throughout the growing season.We'll also be collecting books to donate to children living at Fort View. Please consider bringing a book for children ages 5-9.Transitional Housing Corporation (THC) provides housing and supportive services to more than 500 DC families that were homeless or at-risk to support them in making transformational changes in their lives by increasing their housing stability and economic viability.We will try to coordinate carpools for volunteers who need rides.
