Change Agent Summer Organizing Program
May 30, 2008 -September 28, 2008

Be the Change, Inc. is seeking energetic and idealistic individuals from around the country to help jump-start the ServiceNation Movement. We are looking for people who believe in the transformational power of citizen service and are ready to help call for a new era of citizenship and service in America. No organizing experience necessary.

Responsibilities:

Organizers must attend the May 30-June 3 Change Agent Academy training in Atlanta, GA (expenses paid). Organizers will spend the duration of the summer in their home (or previously agreed upon) community working with local citizens to generate momentum for the ServiceNation movement calling for increased national service. Organizers will hold community forums, attend public meetings, navigate the local political system, identify key stakeholders, and generate and train a base of local citizens to continue the movement. Organizers will work with the citizens they train to plan and execute a Day of Action. Internship will culminate in the Day of Action on September 27th.

Qualifications:
Interns must be self-motivated individuals committed to creating change. Must have organizational and relationship-building skills. Interns should work well both on teams and individually.

Stipend: $3,750
