As a two term alum of AmeriCorps NCCC, Diana Epstein has shown a tremendous commitment to service and civic action. Post college, Epstein served for two years in NCCC at the Charleston campus, first as a Corps Member and then as a Team Leader. After that she went on to receive her master's degree in public policy at UC Berkeley and also did a summer internship at CNCS. Now in her second year of a Ph.D. program in public policy analysis at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, CA, Epstein works on a variety of research projects, primarily focused on education policy. In addition, Epstein plans to study the impacts of national service programs, civic engagement efforts, venture philanthropy, and social entrepreneurism.
Epstein is also an active member of AmeriCorps Alums since the inaugural Leadership Conference in Portland. Epstein served on the original Steering Committee and is now a member of the Advocacy Committee. In addition, she is also the co-chapter leader of the Los Angeles chapter and is helping to organize an Alums presence in the state of California.
