AmeriCorps Alums Book Club FAQ's
1. How are books selected?
AmeriCorps Alums selects books based on feedback from alums via the "Featured Book Survey" and "Suggest A Book" sections at the Book Club homepage.
2. When does the Book Club meet?
The Book Club meets quarterly via conference calls. Based on alum feedback, meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of the month from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST during the months of October, January, April, and July.
3. What is the format of the quarterly conference calls?
Quarterly conference calls will be hosted by a moderator. The moderator's role will be to promote open discussion of the featured book between conference call participants. Calls will last no longer than 1 hour.
4. Does AmeriCorps Alums have any discounts for purchasing books?
Yes. Barnes & Noble, a name synonymous with the most up-to date books, movies, and CD's offers our registered AmeriCorps Alums members a customized online bookstore with extra savings!  All registered members will receive an additional 5% off of the already low online rates when you shop through our online store. Check out the Discount Center under Member Benefit section.
5. Why should I join the Book Club group?
By joining the Book Club group, you will recieve automatic updates on book club events, conference call information, and book discounts. In addition, the Book Club will be a great place to weigh-in on issues important to alums and gain insights on how to continue to enrich and strengthen our lives and communities.
