Help Us Build a Movement!
We’re excited to share with you that more than a dozen national organizations and a dozen state service commissions have already joined us as official AmeriCorps Alums 20th Anniversary partners. We are excited to work with them to make sure all alumni—including the nearly 80,000 currently serving Corps members completing their terms of service this summer—are connected to the ideas, people, and resources they need to support their commitment to a lifetime of service. Is your state commission signed on? What about the place where you served or currently volunteer?

AMERICORPS ALUMS is Growing: Meet Maria Caruso, Communications Coordinator
Maria Caruso has vivid memories of being served by Jumpstart; an experience with service that ignited a passion for reading and giving back to the community. Maria earned a Master of Fine Arts and taught college for one year before committing to serve in AmeriCorps. She served with Year Up and Youth Villages Inner Harbour Campus and is excited to join the AmeriCorps Alums team as our new Communications Coordinator. Get to know Maria and read about how AmeriCorps gave her a way to answer that often dreaded job interview question, “Tell me about yourself.”
Alums Co-ED to Share Stage with Chelsea Clinton on June 5
From June 4-6th, 2014, General Stanley McChrystal is re-convening 300 leaders from the national service, military, corporate and higher-ed sectors to talk about the future of service. The event will include both Alums Co-Executive Directors and over 20 AmeriCorps alumni working to ensure all young people can find an opportunity to serve. Mary, Alums Co-ED, will be onstage with Chelsea Clinton as they highlight our generation’s role serving in all sectors of life. AmeriCorps Alums is excited to be co-hosting an early morning run (PT!!!) with Team Red, White & Blue, a veteran’s organization, as well as a Millennial Breakfast salon. We’re eager to be part of a larger cohort of domestic service alumni that will help shape this movement and the vision of providing all young persons with the opportunity to serve our country.
For a list of the confirmed speakers and more information, please see the recent press release.
AMERICORPS ALUMS at the Conference on Volunteering and Service June 16-18
From June 16-18, 2014, Points of Light will host the annual Conference on Volunteering and Service in Atlanta, GA. The event attracts a large number of AmeriCorps alumni and current members, and we hope you’ll join us for networking events, conference workshops, and exceptional general sessions. If you haven't done so already, you can register for this year's conference here.

AMERICORPS ALUMS Survey Update
Thank you to the more than 5,200 alumni of AmeriCorps who completed our “Life After AmeriCorps” survey. Alumni from all 50 states, Washington D.C., Guam, Puerto Rico, and around the world told us how AmeriCorps service affected them personally and professionally. The survey is now closed. We will be releasing the results of the survey on June 5, 2014, at the Gettysburg Summit. Before then, we will also announce the four winners of the survey prizes (free career coaching and tickets to the Gettysburg summit) soon. Stay tuned!
