Save the Date: Nationwide Swearing-In Ceremonies on 9/12! Find an Event - and an Alum - Near You!
This September 12 marks an important milestone – the 20th Anniversary of AmeriCorps.
Join AmeriCorps Alums, the Corporation for National and Community Service, and our 70+ anniversary partners in celebrating the 20th anniversary of AmeriCorps by joining the largest-ever simultaneous saying of the AmeriCorps pledge with events in all 50 states! Find an event near you by checking our Events Calendar, including a list of Swearing-In Ceremonies! We’ll be updating our calendar on a regular basis, so be sure to check back for updates. Can’t make it to an event? We’ll be sharing ways to join in virtually soon!
Throughout the anniversary, make it easy to find an Alum near you, by wearing our AmeriCorps Alums 20th Anniversary t-shirt! The t-shirt includes the AmeriCorps Alums logo and the commemorative line from the AmeriCorps pledge “I will carry this commitment with me this year and beyond.” This t-shirt is our gift to you with a donation of just $20. Proceeds of your anniversary gift underwrite professional development opportunities that are FREE for Corps members and Alums, including our monthly career webinars. Only one in three Corps members from the class of 2013 felt they were well-supported in transitioning to “life after AmeriCorps.” Your anniversary gift of just $20 will help to ensure ALL Corps members and Alums are connected to the people, ideas, and resources that support their commitment to a lifetime of service. Commemorative anniversaryt-shirtsareavailable for a limited time only (while supplies last). Make your $20 donation in honor of the 20th anniversary and get your t-shirt TODAY!
When we first served, we committed to “getting things done” our year of service and beyond. We are excited to keep getting things done – for Corps members, Alums, and America – with you!
Ben Duda and Mary Bruce AmeriCorps Alums Co-Executive Directors
P.S. Commemorative anniversary t-shirts are available for a limited time only and while supplies last. Order by August 28 to ensure receipt by September 10, 2014. They make great Ameri-gifts, too!

“Odd isn’t it? How life gets in the way of our plans and dreams. One of the first lessons I learned in AmeriCorps is all humans are good people.” Read more from Michael Gil-Branion ("Made In AmeriCorps") and the stories shared from other Alums on our blog.
Live Event: Hear from Alums Pursuing a Grad Degree & Career in Social Work
Social workers have the ability to lead real change in their communities. On August 21st at 8 p.m. ET, the MSW@USC, The University of Southern California’s online master’s degree program, will host a live webinar to discuss the opportunities for those who pursue a Masters of Social Work with MSW@USC and hope AmeriCorps Alums will join the discussion.
This complimentary, live event will be hosted by a panel of AmeriCorps alumni who are current MSW@USC students. Panelists will offer attendees a personal account of their experience in the MSW@USC program and how their education is helping them make an impact in their communities.
