In his own words, Ronnie Smith
became involved in his community "because back in 2004 - 2005 I joined a group of dedicated young men and women called Americorps NCCC." He often thinks back to his experiences with his NCCC Region Director, Mr. Charles Davenport, who constantly reminded Smith that he would always be connected to AmeriCorps- right now that could not be more true. He has taken on the role of chapter leader for the Cincinatti Chapter of AmeriCorps Alums. Additonally, he is personally committed to serving those under-resourced populations- specifically he feels it is extremely important to "learn how to help people who are less fortunate than you are, and to do it with love, and not just for the money aspect." Currently, Ronnie is a freshmen at Wright State University, where he is studying Sociology. He intends to carry that knowledge to graduate school where he plans concentrate on Osteopathic Medicine.
