Open Hand helps Atlantans prevent or better manage chronic disease by combining home-delivered meals and nutrition education as a means to reinforce the connection between informed food choices and improved quality of life. This month the Metro Atlanta Chapter is teaming up with Open Hand to help its meal preparation service for an afternoon.

Date: Saturday, July 24
Time: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Address: 176 Ottley Dr, Atlanta, GA 30324

Alumni & friends age 12 and up are welcome. Skills in food preparation are not required. Because we'll be involved in food service in the kitchen, the following dress code should be observed:
  • Long pants, sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes.
  • Tie back loose hair or use hair net. Bearded volunteers will need to use beard covers.
  • No jewelry (watches, bracelets, rings, etc.). No high heels.

The Metro Atlanta Chapter volunteer coordinator for this event is
Aria Beullah

The Open Hand volunteer services manager is
Steven Grant

Parking around Project Open Hand is limited. If you live near other volunteers, carpooling is recommended. The nearest MARTA metro station is Lindbergh Center (red/yellow lines), about 2 miles' walk.
