Clean Up and Tree Planting

When:        Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 - Tree Planting:   9 a.m. - noon

Who:          Downtown North Meridian businesses, Indianapolis Downtown, Inc. (IDI), St. Joseph Neighborhood Association, City of Indianapolis and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful

What:           Volunteers needed to beautify and enhance the Downtown North Meridian Neighborhood by creating a clean, pedestrian-friendly environment for the area’s streets, sidewalks, store fronts and businesses.  Meet your neighbors as you work side by side.  Funding for trees provided by IPL’s Trees for Tomorrow program as part of the City’s NeighborWoods program.

Why:             In preparation of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Central Library opening, the goal is to welcome and encourage library visitors to enjoy the area by creating a sense of place and connecting this area to nearby public spaces.
