Remember that commitment you made to serve "this year and beyond"? Well, here's another chance to not only do that, but to also help get more Americans involved in service!  On September 27th, thousands of communities around the nation will mobilize on the Service Nation Day of Action,to demonstrate the impact that service has – and could have - upon our country and the power of citizens to create large scale change.

If you haven't heard, Service Nation events were kicked off by a summit that took place September 11th in New York City. Both Presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama were in attendance spoke about the importance of service and their commitment to service.  On September 27th, Atlanta will be one of several hundred cities across the country participating in the Service Nation Day of Action. The event will take place in Downtown Atlanta in and around the Woodruff Park Area.

We need volunteers to come on out and be a part of something huge. We'll be mulching in the park along with AmeriCorps members, and also engaging the downtown community in conversations about service and in signing the Declaration of Service.  We need you! So, come on out. Let's edge! Let's mulch! Let's give a voice to the vision of change we have for America. But most importantly--

Let's "GET THINGS DONE!"  Contact Sara Haas at with any questions.

Please be sure to also join our project group at so we can track our overall impact.
