Volunteer duties:

- Have people create a Service related phrase on the magnet board at the booth (see attached picture)
- Tell people about the local AmeriCorps programs, non-profits, and other service opportunities you know about locally (primarily at the Farmer's Market), and nationally (primarily outside ACL fest).

- Bring your personal story of Service & be ready to talk about it with the public (AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, PTA, church group, non-profit events) whatever it is that you do to help your community!

- Send the Declaration of Service to your friends & family today!

Farmers Market  - I suggest you come early so you can find good parking.  Metered parking along Guadalupe, W 5th Street & San Antonio (north of 5th St ) are all FREE, but limited.  As a last resort, you may park in the Classified Parking Lot adjacent to the Farmers Market (enter from W 3rd Street & San Antonio ). NOTE: they will have parking monitors so please let them know that you are a Farmers Market Shopper. This parking area is only free until 1 PM.  Then you will be charged $15 (so leave early if you need to).

ACL Festival – One of our volunteers (J Walker) will run a shuttle from the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center parking lot.  Please park and meet in front of the Hobby Lobby.  The first Shuttle leaves at 1:30pm.  We anticipate limited shuttle runs, so please contact J and leave a message with your name and when you anticipate being at the shopping center if you intend to use this option.  Rides back to your cars will be provided at the end of the day (6pm).  If you intend to leave before 6pm anticipate taking Capital Metro on South Lamar back to your car.  Several lines run throughout the day.   J’s cell is (512) 350-4050.

Please RSVP to me if you can attend the event on Saturday (so I know how many to expect), and call or e-mail if you have any questions!
Remember to forward the links above and get your friends, family, co-workers & neighbors to sign the Declaration of Service :-)
