Earth Force Beyond the Classroom (EFBC) Volunteer Opportunities
Lowcountry Earth Force (LEF) has an exciting opportunity for volunteers to facilitate a community-based program in the after-school environment.  LEF is a local nonprofit whose mission is to engage youth as active citizens who improve the environment and their communities now and in the future.
Through this program, volunteers are trained to lead students once a week on an investigative journey that begins with identification and exploration of environmental issues around their school and culminates in a small service learning project that improves their school community. The program lasts for 16 weeks (1 school semester) and all projects are student-generated and include an outreach component for the broader community.
What: Earth Force Beyond the Classroom
When: Fall and Spring School Semesters, between 3-5 pm
Where: Various Elementary Schools throughout Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties
If you are interested in becoming a weekly volunteer with the LEF EFBC Program, please contact Eric Anderson at (843) 720-8525 or by email at
