The theme of the event will be literacy and will include special guest speakers Representative John Lewis, CNCS Board Member Eric Tanenblatt, and DCA Commissioner Mike Beatty. 

The service project will consist of:
  • Painting murals
  • Indoor and outdoor beautification (cleaning desks, windows and shelves, picking up litter, etc.),
  • Minor landscaping(raking, pulling weeds, picking up litter, etc.)
  • Crafting literacy games and puzzles to share with your community.
What to wear: 
  • Comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty
  • Closed-toe shoes

What to bring (Must be kept with you at all times!):

  • Personal water bottle
  • Work gloves if desired (latex gloves will be provided for painting)
  • A dust mask if you have allergies or are sensitive to paint
  • Poncho/rain jacket in case of rain (This event is will take place RAIN OR SHINE!)
  • Please do not bring children, pets or alcohol.

Parking will be available at the school and overflow parking may use the adjacent Boys and Girls Club.
T-shirts and lunch may be available, but cannot be guaranteed for those that registered after September 29th.
