Advanced Marketing Leadership Team Application
AmeriCorps Alums is looking for dedicated, innovative, energetic self-starters to volunteer for  our Advanced Marketing Leadership team. The role of the AML team will be to successfully launch the AmeriCorps 15th anniversary viral  awareness campaign, find alumni, build our database, and communicate/market our new brand and key messages.  The project will run from Oct 5th (first phone meeting) until December 31st, 2009 (approx. 3 months).

Team Commitments:
  • Attend a 30 minute conference call once a week
  • 2-3 hours/week volunteer work on task
  • 10-15 mins every other day to email/respond to email/visit online group
  • Register on, keep an active profile and join the Advanced Marketing Leadership Group
Project Description:
  • Based on a Mar/Comm Audit, make thoughtful, tangible suggestions on what we can do this year (and what we cannot do) to address the recommendations. Prioritize all suggestions and plot on a timeline. (ALL)
  • Using new key messaging, create a deck of draft email messages that will go out for the campaign to 1) alumni, 2) chapter leaders, 3) state commissions and 4) national directs (1/ 2 people)
  • Create messages and best practices for Facebook, YouTube, our blog, Linked In, MySpace, Flickr and Twitter during campaign including sample text and recruitment strategies. (1 person)
  • Keep active our profile, update key messages, recruit followers and integrate campaigns. (1 person)
  • Secure at least 10 incentives to motivate alumni to update their profile or register. (1/ 2 people)
  • Forward communications to personal national service contacts and build an exhaustive list of NATIONAL media contacts. (ALL)
  • Draft a a press release and media advisories, create national and local templates. (1 person)
  • Craft content for pages on our site related to our 'Partner Ecosystem'. (1 person)
