AmeriCorps Alums Day at the White House

On Friday, August 17th, 2012, AmeriCorps Alums, in collaboration with the White House Office of Public Engagement and the Corporation for National and Community Service, hosteda special convening of AmeriCorps alumni known asAmeriCorps Alums Day at the White House. AmeriCorps Alums Day at the White House featured a full-day program highlighting how AmeriCorps alumni have leveraged their national service experience to become influential leaders in their life after AmeriCorps. For this momentous event, 150 AmeriCorps Alum were invited to engage with Senior White House officials andagency representatives.

As part of the event,12 AmeriCorps Alums were honored by the White House as "Champions of Change”. These extraordinary leaders shared how their service helped them become successful in areassuch as entrepreneurship, corporate citizenship, and civic and community leadership.
