Senators Arlen Specter and Hillary Clinton recently proposed the US Public Service Academy Bill to the House and Senate. The academy will be the first national civilian academy in the United States and is designed to develop a continous flow of passionate and patriotic, young leaders who are dedicated to public service. The academy also provides students with a rigorous, undergraduate education that is followed by five years of civilian service to the US. The academy will develop the academic training, moral character, and practical experience necessary to meet the challenges in today's society.
