Educating Yourself on Your Education Award

Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (NWREL) recently released a collection of best practices concerning the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award.  It is designed to assist current and former AmeriCorps members in the decision-making process regarding using the education award in going to school and repaying student loans.  NWREL improves learning by building capacity in schools, families, and communities through applied research and development.  NWREL provides research and development assistance to education, government, community agencies, business, and labor.  The collection of best practices includes:
  • Going to college
  • Repaying your loans
  • Nontraditional uses of the education award
  • Colleges and universities that reward students for a commitment to service: Matching schools
